Using freshly cut willow grown here at Cherry Tree Flower Farm,  you will be guided in the basketry techniques required to weave your own living 'tree' in a pot of peat free compost. You can choose from a tall cylindrical shape or a curvier egg shape.
As it grows, your willow tree will put out a plume of leaves from the top and sides. The woven trunk will remain the same height, but will gradually thicken and fuse to create a wonderfully textured finish. When the leaves fall in winter, that years stems can be cut back to maintain its size if desired.
The easy maintenance details are discussed throughout the workshop.
The finished height once woven is approx 3ft tall.
Willows are fully hardy in the UK and need to be planted outside in order to thrive. They need a sunny spot and moisture retentive soil.
Cherry Tree Flower Farm is registered with APHA and all living willow trees are issued with plant passports.
