In this 1 hour mini workshop you will use freshly cut willow that was grown here at Cherry Tree Flower Farm in Ainsworth, to learn the techniques of how to create a small heart, approx 25cm across. You'll then plant this into a recyclable pot of peat free compost and have a hot drink whilst we chat about the ongoing care of your willow heart tree.
 
As the willow heart grows, this deciduous tree puts out a plume of leaves from the 'trunk' and top. The heart itself remains the same height, but gradually thickens over time. When the leaves fall in winter, that years stems can be cut back to maintain its size and shape.
 
Willow is fully hardy in the UK.
